Original Burger with Wild Rice

INGREDIENTS (for 5-6 people)

  • 800g minced meat or soya
  •  200g Bali Wild Rice
  •  4 onions
  •  6 big tomatoes
  •  9-10 burger buns
  •  oil
  •  salt & pepper
  •  ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard
  •  Wild Rice

DIRECTIONS

Boil approximately 300ml of lightly salted water. Add the wild rice and let it simmer for 20 minutes. Remove the excess water, if any.

Meanwhile, finely chop the onions. Cut the tomato into slices. Mix the minced meat, cooked wild rice and onions and season with salt and pepper (about ¼ teaspoon salt). Divide into 9-10 similar sized pieces and form the burgers. Fry them in a pan with oil on both sides until they become crispy. Place them on kitchen paper to absorb the oil. Open the buns in half and put ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard. Place the burger on top and garnish with tomato slices.
